Zak Noyle is arguably the best water photographer shooting the Banzai Pipeline today. The Honolulu-native seems to be half-dolphin, half-human the way he swims purposefully in 8-to 10-foot surf to get the shot. Unlike many of his professional peers, Zak didn’t fall into a career as a surf photographer. In fact, the Kaimuki native embraced the aquatic art form from a young age. This is clearly visible in the unique images and angles that Noyle regularly captures as a staff photographer for Surfer Magazine. His work takes him around the globe taking pictures of the world’s best surfers shredding exotic waves. Yet, his true talent is always showcased shooting with a fisheye lens at waves of consequence like Teahupoo and Pipe.
